In Europe, meat and bone meal is used as a natural fuel for generating energy and burning debris. It can be considered as a substitute for coal, with less than 1/3 calorie.
In Great Britain, especially a lot of meat and bone meal was used as fuel after mad cow disease, when large numbers of livestock were slaughtered. Most of the burned at the thermal power plant Glanford Power Station .
