Sunflower , or Helianthus ( lat. Heliantheae ) - a tribe of the Asteraceae family. Heliant - the third largest tribe of the family, it includes approximately 190 genera and 2,500 species ; only tribes Senecioneae and Astereae are ahead of her. Most genera and species are found in the Americas , especially in Mexico . There are several pantropic births.

Botanical Description
Most sunflowers are grasses and shrubs , but there are some that reach the size of small trees .
Leaves are opposite, usually covered with hairs .
Marginal flowers are false-lingual, median tubular. Pappus in the form of films or bristles, but not hairs [2] .
