The Vyshnevolotskaya ridge is located in the eastern part of the Valdai Upland .

The main part of the ridge passes through the territory of the Tver region in the Nelidovsky district through the villages of Kaskovo, Vysokoe, as well as through the upper reaches of the rivers Zhukopy , Pesochni, Molodaya Tud, Pyroshni, in the middle part of the ridge is divided into 2 chains.
Near the Volga River both chains merge (in this place the relative height reaches 100 m). The most elevated points of the ridge are located in the area of the city of Vyshny Volochyok , here the absolute heights of the relief exceed 300 m, the highest point of the ridge is located on the left bank of the Volga, its absolute height is 317.6 m above sea level .
Within the Vyshnevolotskaya ridge lies a wide, flat elevation at the head of the Tsna River, where to the west of the village of Esenovichi is the highest point of the Tver region, the absolute height of which is 346 m. Low hills near Bor villages, Borders Myakishevo (relative height 10-20 m).
The Vyshnevolotskaya ridge is composed of moraine loam overlapped with different-grained sands with boulders and pebbles. The tops of the hills of the Vyshnevolotsk ridge are rounded, the slopes are gentle, between the hills there are marshy lowlands, the river valleys are slightly incised. Through the Vyshnevolotskaya ridge the Volga and the Great and Small Kosha rivers flow, the Osuga , Tsna and Povedi rivers begin from the hills. [one]
