The Sony Alpha DSLR-A850 is Sony's second full-frame professional digital SLR camera Alpha (α). It was announced on August 27, 2009 [1] . The camera has a 24-megapixel CMOS sensor . It differs from the older model DSLR-A900 with a simplified viewfinder (98% frame size versus 100%) and shooting speed (3 frames per second instead of 5).

It is the first full-frame digital camera, the price of which has become less than the psychologically important barrier of 2000 US dollars.
The camera is fully compatible with the fleet of Minolta AF mount lenses , both old ones made by Minolta and Konica Minolta , as well as new ones made by Sony and Carl Zeiss , although DT series lenses designed for APS-C format matrices can give vignetting on a larger A850 matrix.
