Biography

A Day In The Life

In the period from 2001 to 2003, the group was called A Day In The Life [3] .

The band co-recorded the Split CD: From Ohio With Love (Radio Eat Radio Dot Com Records) with bands such as The Red Affair and Hit The Lights, and released the album Nine Reasons To Say Goodbye . After some time, the musicians decided to change their name to Hawthorne Heights.

The Silence In Black And White

In mid-February 2004, the group began recording the album The Silence In Black And White and, with the help of Dan Duszynski and Sean O'Keefe, known for their work with Fall Out Boy and Spitalfield , completed it for four weeks.

“The recording process alone has endowed us with tremendous experience. We learned to experiment, which we have never done before. In terms of sound, this record is a huge step forward in comparison with what we did before. And we are very proud of the result, ”commented drummer Eron Bucciarelli . “The Silence In Black And White, as usual, contains songs about life's frustrations and spiritual development of a person. Musically, she tests the strength of the border between post-hardcore and screamo, adding a deeper and sadner sophistication. Influenced by bands from Led Zeppelin to Quicksand and Nirvana , Hawthorne Heights music is melodic and flammable at the same time. Our three guitars make it possible to add a lot of intricate effects to music, which allows us to get rid of the framework of a strictly defined style, ”says Eron. “For us, The Silence In Black And White is the perfect container for the cocktail of our diverse musical tastes.”

The album reached 56th position on the Billboard 200 US chart and 3rd position on the Independent Albums chart published by Billboard magazine. Having received the status of platinum , the album was the most successful debut at that time in the history of the Victory Records recording studio [4] .

From the songs of this album in 2005, the group released two singles - “Ohio Is For Lovers”, which took 34th place in the US Modern Rock chart, and “Niki FM”, which fell to 40th position in the same chart.

If Only You Were Lonely

Before releasing their next album, Hawthorne Heights went on a Never Sleep Again Tour tour with bands such as Aiden , Silverstein and Bayside .

On February 28, 2006, the next full-fledged album was released - If Only You Were Lonely , which debuted on the 3rd Billboard 200 chart . The album reached number one on the US Indie chart, and number 85 on the UK chart.

The song "Saying Sorry" was broadcast on the music television channels MTV , VH1 and Fuse . The single took 7th place on the US Modern Rock chart, 87th place on the British chart and 38th on the British rock chart.

The song “Where Can I Stab Myself In the Ears” in the remix of The Legion Of Doom called “Where Do I Stab Myself in the Ears” was included in the soundtrack of the film “ Another World: Evolution ”.

Death Casey Calvert

On November 24, 2007, on the second day of the American tour, rhythm guitarist Casey Calvert was found dead on the band's tour bus in Washington . An autopsy showed that the cause of death was the combined effect of various drugs - opiate (presumably, vicodin), citalopram and clonazepam [5] .

Fragile Future

After a two-year break, the group approached the recording of a new album, which was due to be released on August 5, 2008. In July, the band released a video for the new single, "Rescue Me". The release of the album was postponed to August 1. After releasing their most melodic album, the band embarked on a Never Sleep Again Tour tour with artists such as Emery , The Color Fred , Tickle Me Pink and The Mile After . The first hours of this tour were played in St. Petersburg, Florida . And the last concert was given in the city of Norfolk ( Virginia ).

The album reached 23rd place on the American chart, 4th place on the US Indie chart and 13th place on the UK Indie chart.

2009

By the beginning of 2009, the group signed a contract with Wind-Up Records and recorded their new album, which, tentatively, is due out in the fall of 2009 ... The recording of the album is complete!

In November 2009, the group plans to tour America, with little-known bands such as: Just Surrender , Punchline , Monty Are I , Anarbor , Nightbeast . The tour is set to begin on November 2 in Cleveland Heights , Ohio and end on December 20 in Newport , Connecticut , 2009.

The group officially announced that in early 2010 , released a new, fourth album, whose name is Skeletons . The group also replenishes the list of cities in which they will give their concerts, all by large US cities .
