The Government Junta of National Reconstruction ( Spanish: Junta de Gobierno de Reconstrucción Nacional ) is the provisional coalition government of Nicaragua , which performed the duties of governing the country from July 18, 1979 to January 10, 1985. In the Soviet press, journalism and historical literature, the Junta (in Spanish - The Council ) was called the Governing Council of the Provisional Democratic Government of National Renaissance (VDPNV), since the name of the Junta , well mastered by political journalism, is clearly negative.
Composition of the Government Junta
Initially, the Government junta consisted of five people:
- Violeta Barrios Torres de Chamorro from the Group of 12 (opposition organization of the Nicaraguan intelligentsia) - coordinator of the Junta
- Daniel Ortega Saavedra from SFNO ,
- Sergio Ramirez Mercado (from Group 12),
- Moises Hassan Morales from the movement "One People" (political organization of the SFNO),
- Alfonso Robelo Callejas from the Broad Opposition Front (bourgeois opposition bloc)
In the spring of 1980, as all power in the country passed to the Sandinista Front, the Junta underwent changes:
- On April 19, 1980, Violeta Chamorro was replaced by Sergio Ramirez as the coordinator of PHRP and she left the junta;
- On April 22, 1980, Alfonso Robelo was removed from the Junta;
- On May 19, 1980, Arturo José Cruz Porras and Rafael Корngel Córdoba Rivas were introduced into the Junta instead of two retired members
In the spring of 1981, the second and final reorganization of the Government junta took place. On March 4, 1981, SFOR leader Daniel Ortega Saavedra replaced Sergio Ramirez as PCRN coordinator. At the same time, Moises Hassan Morales and Arturo Jose Cruz Porras were withdrawn from its composition. Before the end of their term of office (January 10, 1985), the Government junta of national reconstruction consisted of three members (instead of five) and had the following composition:

- Sergio Ramirez Mercado
- Rafael Angel Cordoba Rivas [1]
By this time, the power in the country was in fact in the hands of the National leadership of the SFSS
