Content
Biography
Born in 1920 in the village of Baidarly (now in the Gakh region of Azerbaijan ) in a peasant family. Azerbaijanian . He graduated from the 7-year school, in 1939 - Nukhinskoy Pedagogical School. He worked in the village of Almalo secondary school teacher.
In the Red Army since October 10, 1940 . Since the beginning of World War II at the front.
Medical Officer of the 1235th Infantry Regiment ( 373rd Infantry Division , 52nd Army , 1st Ukrainian Front ) candidate member of the CPSU (b) Senior Sergeant Mamed Mamedov during the crossing of the Oder River near the village of Rattwitz, located in the 5th kilometers south-east of the city of Breslau , on January 24, 1945, carried out from the battlefield 16 wounded soldiers and commanders. During the counterattack of the enemy in the captured bridgehead was surrounded with the wounded in the house.
The courageous medical instructor died, defending the wounded. He was buried in the town of (now Ratowice, commune of Chernitsa , Wroclaw County , Lower Silesian Voivodeship , Poland ).
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 10, 1945, for exemplary performance of combat missions of the command on the front of the struggle against the German fascist invaders and the courage and heroism shown to the senior sergeant Mamedov Mamed Dzhebrailovich, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously).
