Hyperides ( ancient Greek Ὑπερείδης , 390-322 BC), the son of Glauccippus, is one of the ten Attic speakers [3] .

A pupil of Plato and Isocrates , Hyperides politically belonged to the people's party of Demosthenes , whose fate he shared. When, after the death of Philip II of Macedon, the Thebans and the Athenians joined up against Alexander the Great , Hyperides joined them, but after defeat they avoided extradition. After the death of Alexander, Hyperides took part in the failed Lamian War , after which he fled to Aegina , where he was captured and killed on the orders of Antipater . Of the 77 speeches of his, only 52 were considered genuine Alexandrian philologists. In 1847 and 1856 papyri were found in Egypt with excerpts of these speeches.
The speeches of Hyperides are also present in the Archimedes Palimpsest .
