Golubev, Alexander Vyacheslavovich

Alexander Vyacheslavovich Golubev (born May 19, 1972 ) is a Russian skater, Honored Master of Sports of Russia ( 1994 ). The first ever Russian champion of the Winter Olympic Games (in 1992, Russia acted as part of the CIS ). One of the three Olympic champions in speed skating from Russia (except for Golubev - Svetlana Bazhanova and Svetlana Zhurova ). Honorary citizen of Kostroma .

Biography

Born on May 19, 1972 in the village of Karavaevo, Kostroma district, Kostroma region .

In 1973, the Golubev family moved to Kostroma. Here in 1979, Alexander enters school. At the same time, he comes to the speed skating section. The first trainer - G. Shumilov. During the training he changed 3 schools (No. 29, No. 7 and No. 41). Having received an incomplete secondary education (8 classes), he enters the Kostroma Motor Transport College.

He trained under the guidance of Victor Grigorievich Savelyev [1] [2] .

In 1989 he became a member of the USSR national team in speed skating, in 1990 he became a master of sports of international class.

Participant of 3 Olympics at a distance of 500 m

  • Albertville 1992 - 7th place
  • Lillehammer 1994 - 1st place
  • Nagano 1998 - 19th place

In 1994, Alexander Golubev was awarded the title "Honored Master of Sports of Russia".

In 1998 , at the age of 26, Alexander announced the end of his career as an athlete.

Married, has sons. Wife Elena, sons - Alexander and Victor .
