Koller, Karl (soccer player)

Karl Koller ( German: Karl Koller ; February 8, 1929 , Hölles - January 24, 2009 , Baden ) is an Austrian footballer , one of the best players in the history of Austrian football. It was part of the famous central “axis” of the Austrian national team , together with Ernst Otsvirk and Gerhard Hanappi , which was one of the strongest midfield lines in the world [1] . According to a survey, IFFIIS takes 70th place among the best players of the 20th century in Europe . The best player of the club " First " (Vienna) in the history of the team [2] .

Biography

Karl Koller was born in the city of Hölles . When Karl was small, his family moved to Bloomau-Neurishof , where Koller’s childhood passed.

At the age of 20, Koller moved to the Forst club, having liked watching the head coach of the club Hon Vertu . Three years after his debut at the club, on March 15, 1952, Koller played his first match for the Austrian national team with the Belgian team . In 1954, Koller rode in the national team to the World Cup , where the Austrians took 3rd place. A year later, Koller won his first Austrian championship , and after 2 years he won silver medals in the national championship.

In 1958, as part of the national team, Koller went to his second world championship . But Austria fell into the "death group" with England , Brazil and the USSR , flying out after the group stage. In total at the World Championships, Koller spent 8 matches and scored a goal against England [3] . In 1961, First and Koller as part of the team reached the finals of the Austrian Cup and silver medals of the Austrian championship. Koller ended his career in 1965 .

After completing his career as a player, Koller started the hotel business, owning 2,000 -star hotels in Bloemau-Neurishof . At the age of 79, Karl Koller died after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease [4] . On February 7, he was buried in the Blumau-Neurishof cemetery.
