Biography
Pierre Schott became famous since the 1980s , forming the Raft group with singer Christian Fougeron . Their duet , in which Schott was a bass player, guitarist and keyboardist, released two pop reggae albums on the Polydor label and in 1987 one of the discs became gold after selling 500,000 copies of the hit Yaka dansé.
In the 1990s, after the breakup, Raft Schott released three solo albums “Le Nouveau Monde” (“New World”) on Virgin label in 1992 (including one - “Je te voudrai quand même” - in a duet with Tanita Tikaram ) the album Le Retour à la Vie Sauvage on Dreyfus in 1995 and Le Milieu du Grand Nulle Part on Musidisc in 1998 (with Kike Horns, 8 tracks with Eric Clapton's music).
In the 2000s , Pierre Schott released collections, in particular the album Radio 777 (French rock for Globe / Sony), Cool Crooners of Bulawayo (jazz and vocals for Zimbabwe for Globe / Sony), SuperDog (British pop for Warner Allemagne), Benjamin Téhoval (blues) and others.
Under the guidance of his manager and friend Christian Nuali, Pierre Schott in late 2007 released his fourth album “Zenland” in the style of electro and downtempo. Forgotten by the music industry, this album, like the next one, is distributed via the Internet . And in the summer of 2010, the album “La Fiancée du Silence” was released, which is a logical continuation of the previous one and decorated with fabulously thoughtful music performed on the electric guitar “Blue clair”. This album is declared the final discography of this non-standard format.
