Kuliev, Alim Kaysynovich

Alim Kaisynovich Kuliev was born and raised in the city of Nalchik , the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria .

In 1976 he entered the acting department of the A.V. Lunacharsky State Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS) in the workshop of Professor Semyon Hananovich Gushansky. During his studies, he took part as an actor in repertoire performances of the Moscow Theater of Young Spectators (MTTY). In 1978 he was called up for service in the ranks of the Soviet army. Returning after the end of his service to Moscow (1980), he continued his studies at GITIS , but due to circumstances, already at the faculty of stage directing at the correspondence department. At the same time, he worked as a stage worker at the GITIS educational theater . Since 1981, he has played a number of leading roles in theater-studio performances at the Theater magazine under the direction of Alexander Demidov .

In 1982, he was enrolled as a second-year student in the acting department of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography ( VGIK ) in the studio of the People's Artist of the USSR , Professor Evgeny Semyonovich Matveev , where he took over the experience and subtleties of acting from a great master and completed his acting education. Among Kuliev’s classmates at VGIKU were Natalya Vavilova , Vladimir Shevelkov , Andrey Gusev , Andris Lielais , Nikita Romanenko , Andrey Grinevich , Valeria Riga . At the end of VGIK (1984) he was admitted to the corpse of the Moscow Theater of Miniatures and played in the theater's repertoire.

In 1985, after the death of his father, he temporarily moved to his mother in Nalchik. He played in the performance of the local Russian Drama Theater. M. Gorky. He recorded a radio program on his father’s work, written by film director and screenwriter Eldar Kuliev. He also starred as the host in the program about the songwriting of the peoples of the North Caucasus , filmed on local television, and created according to the script of Eldar Kuliev. He returned to Moscow in 1986 and resumed his work in the studio theater under the direction of Alexander Demidov .

Since the end of 1991, the actor lives in the United States . In the period 1991-1997 he lived in New York and in various cities of the state of New Jersey , earning a living in various areas of the service sector. In 1997, Alim Kuliev moved from New York to Los Angeles , where he currently lives.

In 2005, Kuliev returned to the scene. American actor Alex Sol and Alim Kuliev founded a new theater group ^[1] , in the performances of which the actor played his first serious roles in the United States . ^[2] In 2007, Kuliev founded his own theater company and began work on the production of the stage version of Mikhail Bulgakov ’s novel “The Master and Margarita” as an actor, director and producer. ^[3] At the same time, the actor continued his career in the Hollywood film industry.
