Geographical position
The village of Rubezhnoye is located on the right bank of the Pechenezh reservoir ( Seversky Donets River ), there is a bridge nearby, downstream at a distance of 1 km the village of Verkhny Saltov is located , a large oak forest adjoins the village.
History
The village, known since 1652, preserved traces of two Neolithic sites.
In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries there was an estate of the counts of Hendrikov . In the unsaved Predtechensky chapel of the Assumption Church above the grave of General-General I.S. Gendrikov there was an inscription:

In 1850, a German company, Rotermund i Weiss, built a sugar factory for Count Stepan Alexandrovich Gendrikov. The plant employed 300 people.
Hero of the Soviet Union Mitrofan Lesovoy was born in the village.
