History

In Soviet times , there was the USSR Aikido Federation , which brought together people involved in aikido from various republics of the USSR . When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the USSR Aikido Federation (despite the fact that the former union republics became sovereign states) remained in the same composition. It was decided to rename the Aikido Federation of the USSR into the “ International Euro-Asian Aikido Federation ” (since the created states are territorially located in Europe and Asia ). The official date of the creation of MEAFA is July 5, 1995 [1] .

Currently

Currently, MEAFA holds large events (seminars, festivals and sporting events), in which representatives of all corners of the former Soviet Union and foreign countries participate. On the basis of the Academy of Physical Culture, MEAFA organized state courses for the training of aikido instructors.
