Berryz Kobo or Berryz Koubou ( Japanese: Berryz 工房 Berryz Co.: bo:, literally. “Berryz Workshop”) is a Japanese idol group of seven girls, produced by Tsunchu .

History
2002-2003: Hello! Project Kids
Future members of the group Berryz Kobo appeared in the project Hello! Project based on the results of listening to the new group Hello! Project Kids held in 2002. Then out of 27,958 applicants, 15 girls were selected.
In the same year, several of them starred in Mini Moni ja Movie: Okashi na Daibouken! With Mini Moni , and in 2003 three joined the newly formed groups: Saki Shimizu and Momoko Tsugunaga in ZYX , and Miyabi Natsuyaki in Aa! .
2004: New Berryz Kobo Band
About the creation of the Berryz Kobo group of eight Hello! Project Kids was first announced on January 14, 2004. The band's first single, Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai, was released in March 2004, with two more in April and May. Their first album, “1st Cho Berryz”, was released in July 2004.
The band's first concert performance was March 3, 2004.
In addition to their own releases, members of the group also performed in a dance in the videos of W and at joint concerts with this group.
2005
The first single Berryz Kobo, which made it to the top ten list of Orikon in a week, was their 6th single “Special Generation”, released on March 30, 2005 [2] [3] . In the first week, it sold 19814 copies, becoming the first single Berryz, breaking the bar of 20 thousand copies [2] [3] . At that time, the average age of the group was less than 12 years.
On September 11, 2005, it was announced that Maya Ishimura would leave Berryz Kobo and Hello! Project to focus on learning [4] . The ceremony of its release took place on October 2 at the last concert of the group’s autumn tour. Mayha became the second non- Morning Musume girl after Heike Michiyo to receive a graduation concert. Maya is currently a student at Shinagawa Étoile Girls High School , an elite private school in Tokyo, on the site of which you can see many of her photographs.
2007
In February 2007, Berryz Kobo made headlines after a concert at the Saitama Super Arena was announced on April 1. The group gave two concerts, tickets for which (in the amount of 20,000 seats) were immediately sold out. In addition, Berryz Kobo made history, becoming the youngest group performing in this arena, breaking the record set by Morning Musume 4 years ago. The average age of Berryz was 13.8 years [5] , while Morning Musume was 16.3 [6] .
2008
On March 12, 2008, the band released the single " Dschinghis Khan ", their first cover, and to date, remains its best-selling single [7] .
Berryz Kobo performed at the Asia Song Festival 2008 in South Korea, introducing Japan with W-inds and Anna Tsuchiya . At this festival, the Berryz Kobo group, along with the South Korean boy band SHINee, was awarded the Best New Asian Artist Award. [8]
On December 12, Berryz Kobo performed at the anniversary concert of Sharam Q at Nippon Budokan , dedicated to its 20th anniversary.
On November 17, the band performed the song “ Dschinghis Khan ” at the 41st Japan Cable Awards at Nakano Sun Plaza , for which it received the Cable Music Award based on song application data from Cansystem’s cable radio network. [9]
The year ended with the band's debut at the 58th Kohaku Uta Gassen , the annual NHK music show broadcast on December 31. They performed a joint performance with Morning Musume and ° C-ute , the latter of which also debuted at Kohaku this year [10] [11] .
2009
In March 2009, a fan club tour took place in Hawaii , simply called "Berryz Kobo First Fan Club Tour in Hawaii '09." He became the first foreign fan club tour for Berriz [12] .
The concert, scheduled for Sunday March 22 in Nagoya , was canceled just a couple of days before the date due to the fact that two members of the group, Miyabi Natsuyaki and Risako Sugaya , got the flu [13] [14] .
On June 3, Berries released their 20th and first double single, Seishun Bus Guide / Rival . The song “Seishun Bus Guide” was used as the ending of the anime Inazuma Eleven . [fifteen]
On April 25, 2009, in the capital of Tochigi Prefecture , Utsunomiya , during their spring tour, the group celebrated their 100th concert (not counting the combined concerts).
On June 21, Berryz Kobo gave a mini-concert in South Korea [16] , which became their first concert abroad.
2010
In the spring of 2010, Berryz Kobo first performed in the Thai capital Bangkok [17] .
With his third double single, “ Otakebi Boy Wao! / Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda! ”, Released on March 3, 2010, the group got into 3rd place on the weekly list of Orikon . She has not managed to surpass this result so far. The single spent 2 weeks in the top ten, ending up in second place at 9th place.
In July, the group released a new single, “Maji Bomber !!”, the title track of which was used as the ending of the Inazuma Eleven anime and in the eponymous game on which the anime is based. The last ending of this anime, “Shining Power”, was released as a single on November 10th.
2011
Berryz Kobo's 25th single, "Heroine ni Narou ka", reached number one on the Oricon daily list for March 6, 2011.
The band’s 7th album, “7 Berryz Times,” hit the shelves in late March [18] [19] .
In April, Berryz Kobo first performed in the United States at the 2011 Sakura-Con anime convention in Seattle [20] [21] [22] . It was reported that the concert was attended by 3,500 spectators [23] .
On June 8, the 26th single Berryz Kobo, " Ai no Dangan " [18] [24], was released .
On August 10, 2011, Berries released their 27th single, " Aa, Yo ga Akeru " [25] [26] .
2012
Berrizov's 8th album, “ Ai no Album 8 ”, appeared on February 22nd [27] .
The 28th single of the group was announced on March 21.
In June 2012, Berryz Kobo will perform at AnimeNEXT anime convention in Somerset , New Jersey , which will be their second concert in the United States.
