Girona ( cat. Girona ) is a Spanish football club from the city of the same name in the province of the same name in the autonomous region of Catalonia . The club was founded in 1930, it receives guests at the Montilivi arena, which seats 13,500 people. Until the 2016/17 season, the club never rose to the Spanish Primera . Up to second place in the Segunda, which allowed the team to rise in the class for the first time, the best achievement of Girona in the Spanish championships was 1st place in one of the Segunda groups in the 1935/36 season.

Content
History
The club was founded on July 25, 1930 in the cafe Norat on the basis of the ceased existence of the club UE Girona . The new team started playing in the second division of the Catalan Championship and played its first match against the club Colonia Artigas . Girona makes its debut in the Segunda in the 1934/35 season, and the following year it takes first place in its group and gets into the playoffs, where it takes the 5th place. After the civil war , Girona alternated seasons in Tercer and Segunda, and after departing from Segunda in the 1958/59 season, the team could not return there for exactly 50 years.
At the end of the 2016/17 season, the team took second place in the Segunda and for the first time in its history went into Example and played there two seasons, after which it retired to Segunda again.
March 6, 2019 "Girona" won the match for the Super Cup of Catalonia [1] .
