Koraku-en ( Japanese 後 楽 園 Ko: raku-en ) is one of Japan 's Three Famous Parks , along with Kairaku-en and Kenroku-en . Originally, the park was called Cohen (late garden), because it was broken after the construction of Okayama Castle , opposite which the park is located. Koraku-en got its name in 1871. [1] [2] Koraku-en Park is located in Okayama , the main city of Okayama Prefecture , on the island of Honshu in Japan . The park covers an area of 13 hectares and is located in the Asahigawa area. [2]

Content
Park History
The breakdown of Koraku-en was begun in 1687 and completed in 1702 by the local feudal lord Ikeda Tsunamasa .
In its present form, the park has existed since 1863 . In 1871, Koraku-en was transferred to Okayama Prefecture, and since 1884 it has been open to visitors.
During the Second World War , in 1945 , this park garden was badly damaged by bombing, but was later restored according to old drawings and drawings. [2]
