Oshmes ( Rodnik ) is a republican political newspaper in the Udmurt language, published in Bashkortostan since 1999 (established on June 30, 1999 [1] with the assistance of R. B. Galyamshin [2] ). The newspaper covers the socio-political events taking place in the republic, and also publishes materials on the history and culture of the Udmurts . The founder of the newspaper is the Cabinet of Ministers of Bashkortostan. It also spreads outside Bashkortostan: in Udmurtia , Perm Territory , Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk Regions .

The newspaper is published once a week on 4 pages of A3 format. The circulation is 2000 copies [3] .
The materials of the newspaper is an important source for studying the dialects of the Udmurt language, widespread in Bashkortostan [4] .
The newspaper holds a volleyball cup among students of schools in Bashkortostan [5] .
