Subtybok is a village in the Kortkeros region of the Komi Republic . It is the only settlement of the village of the same name .

It is located on the sandy right bank of Vychegda on a bend near the ancient lake Pödty. It was founded in 1948 . The first founders of the village were collective farmers who came from the villages of Kortkerossky and Ust-Kulomsky districts, workers from Belarus and Ukraine .

The population as of January 1, 2009 is 1,520 people.

Title

The name is associated with the name of the old woman Podty - "stale lake", "overgrown lake". Where the Komi “under” from the verb “pödny” is to suffocate, to spoil (about the ponds where the fish are frozen), “you” is a lake, “side” is a place on the side, near something. Subtybok - “near a musty lake”. Podty Lake was famous for its salmon .

History

  • 1949 - opening of an elementary school.
  • 1952 - construction of a seven-year school. Then a club, a hospital, a public canteen were built.
  • 2018 - 70 years of the village.

Economics

The leading branch of production is the forest industry. Previously, an isolated narrow gauge railway was used , which was dismantled in 1998 - 1999 .
