Royal African Company ( English Royal African Company ) - British trading company, which existed from 1660 to 1752 . Originally called: "The company of royal entrepreneurs trading with Africa" ( eng. Company of Royal Adventurers Trading to Africa ). Owned trading stations on the west coast of the African continent. The main source of income is the triangular slave trade (in the period from 1672 to 1689 the company sold about 100 thousand slaves). She also mined gold (the English gold coin Guinea got its name from the mine area ).
