Loneliness of Love is a song written by Alexei Romanof and Alexander Sakharov . The song was released as a single from the Russian pop group Vintage from their second studio album, SEX , in 2008 . The song originally appeared on the Internet under the title "From Moscow to New York." In 2009, the composition received the Golden Gramophone Award. [2]

Content
Creating a composition
According to Alexei Romanof, the music for the composition was written by him after visiting one of the parties in Moscow. According to him, he was upset that he did not see a single honest person at the party. At this moment, the idea of composition was born.
The day before, I attended a birthday party for a rather famous person in show business. And I was very disappointed with what I saw there: not a single honest face, only beautiful boxes, but inside it is empty. Tinsel! I also drank a little, and all together I had such a mild depression the next morning. (Laughs.) It was hard on my soul, I sat at the piano and wrote “Loneliness of Love” in 15 minutes, then together with my co-author Sasha Sakharov we came up with a text. And I can say: thank God that what the song sings about has not touched me! Otherwise, I would never have composed anything like that. [3]

Music and Lyrics
Stylistically, the song is a symbiosis of various styles. The arrangement contains elements of ethnic music ( Sitar ), powerful bass lines, more familiar to dance songs, as well as small elements of beat boxing. The music itself in the song has a psychedelic shape, which brings the song closer to the psychedelic pop style. [4] The couplets of the song are notable for the fact that they lack a melody, but it is replaced by a bright sample, which is not typical of Russian pop music. [five]
The meaning of the lyrics is that modern people sometimes do not know how to love and are more concerned about material well-being and their own beauty, or they lead a pro-promotional lifestyle. As the members of the group themselves say, in the video clip for this song they wanted to show that "silicone rules the world." [6]
Criticism Reaction
Alexey Mazhaev from InterMedia considered that the composition does not combine two different ideas very well. As the author of the review writes: “The clip where Anna Pletneva authenticly depicts Barbie was better to be shot on some other song. For the incredible beauty of the refrain of "Loneliness ..." with the "puppet" couplets is completely not combined " [7] . The site of the portal Muz.ru gave a positive assessment to the song. As Andrei Zhitenev wrote, noting the interesting arrangements of the SEX album, the song “Loneliness of Love”, which “has been listened to by all progressive humanity for a year and a half,” is the most beneficial in this regard. The chorus of the song, which the journalist called “amazingly memorable,” was also noted. [five]
Single Commercial Success
The song topped the Russian radio chart and lasted for two weeks in the first place. [8] The song became the second composition of the group topped this chart, after the success of the song "Bad Girl".
