A traffic accident in Romania near the village of Skinteya ( Iasi County ) occurred on August 14, 2009 at 14:20 local time on the 248C county road. The collision of a train and a minibus killed 13 people, including one child, three were seriously injured [1] [2] [3] [4] . This is the most bloody traffic accident in Romania over the past 15 years [5] .

Incident
A passenger train crashed into a minibus with 16 passengers, crossing a road near a railway crossing near the village of Skinteya. Raed Arafat, the state secretary of the Ministry of Health, said that 13 people died in a traffic accident, including a child of 8 years old [6] , and three others were seriously injured.
The rammed minibus, which received a blow to the right central part, drove another 350 meters from the scene of the collision [7] .
The passenger train participating in the incident belongs to the Regiotrans railway company and followed the route Iasi - Brasov [8] .
Reasons
According to the police of Iasi, the accident was due to the carelessness of the minibus driver, who did not pay attention to signs prohibiting passage through a railway crossing [9] .
