Monochrome factor

In Monochrome Factor presents an alternative vision of reality. According to manga, this world is the world of light, and parallel to it is the world of shadows, and the basic idea says that everything is created by pairs of opposites. The world of shadows is a reflection of the world of light, and the reflection of people is the so-called doppelgangers . The balance between two parallel worlds is supported by four Kings: two Kings of light and two Kings of darkness, each of which has five subordinates, the so-called “Children”. At the Kings of Light, the Children are the Rei, at the Kings of Darkness, the Sins, and only Kings can turn people into them. But not everyone can be turned into sina or ray, it depends on the innate factor, the so-called. “Insi”, and the treatment of a person with another factor or without it will be disastrous. The exception is the royal factor, which allowed the protagonist to become blue. In addition, two of the Kings are "True" - the incarnations of the light and the shadow itself (Shiragane (shadow) and Ryuko (light)). They were born together with the world and were supposed to exist forever. But at the time of the outbreak of events in the manga, the true king of the world died, after which reincarnation occurred. Also, there are 2 "Summoned" King - especially strong Sin and Ray, once received the royal title. These are Homurabi (shadow) and Sisui (light).

The border between the worlds is guarded by guards: hakua in the world of light and kokuti in the world of darkness, but when they enter the opposite territory, the guards become aggressive and wild and therefore attack. When one world breaks the balance at the expense of the other, the corresponding King gains strength, therefore Homurabi is incredibly strong at the time of the events in the manga.

The story revolves around Akira Nikaido high school student, a typical lazy man living a normal life. This continues until he meets the mysterious Sirogane, who suddenly appeared before him and declared that their destinies are connected. Akira is shocked by this statement and, naturally, does not believe a single word. On the same day, Aya, Akira's classmate, forgets something at school and asks to go with her in the evening for a forgotten thing. He reluctantly agrees, but at school monsters from the world of shadows (kokuti) attack them, and Akira himself is on the verge of death. Sirogane, who has appeared in time, sees the only way to save Akira: to turn him into sin - a representative of the world of shadows. He also convinces the adolescent to help him restore the balance between the world of people and the world of shadows, which has been broken.

Akira Nikaido ( Jap. 二 海 堂 昶 Nikaido: Akira ) - The main character. He is 16 years old and he is studying in the second grade of high school. Physically strong, but by nature very irritable. He often misses school and doesn’t like school at all, claiming that it’s boring. But despite this, Akira manages to get into the top five in terms of performance. When turning into sina, his hair turns black, his clothes change, and his eyes become a ruby ​​color. At first, he used two daggers as a weapon, but then they transformed into more complex and massive blades. In the manga, to acquire the human form, Akira depends on Sirogane, who plays the role of his shadow, while in the anime doppel is used for this. Although it was said that he belongs to the line of the Kings of Light, the so-called rayev, in fact he is Ryuko's reincarnation. In the present, Akira was already awakening and, therefore, the memories that he was king should have been restored. However, the only awakening was when he and Kengo first met Ko. Then Akira, having taken the form of a yoke, conquered and subdued Kengo, thereby stopping Ko from a suicide attack. Since Ryuko did not fully regain his strength, he was unable to maintain his form and returned to the appearance of Akira, who had lost consciousness from exhaustion. Akira and Kengo’s memories of this event were erased by Ko, who felt that it was too hard for them to cope with what had happened. But recently (regarding the chronology of manga events) Akira has restored these memories.

Sayu : Daisuke Ono

Syrogane ( Jap. 白銀 Syrogane ) - His business card is a black coat, hat and long silver hair. Sirogane, representing a mysterious personality, suddenly appeared before Akira and involved him in a confrontation between the world of shadows and the world of light. Carries a cane. Hides his true personality, which is characterized by a caustic manner of speaking, and the usual softness and smilingness change to coldness and aggressiveness. When in the manga he reveals his true nature, the cane turns into a katana . It is for this reason that Nanaya lost an arm. He is the true King of the shadows. In the anime, Sirogane shows an ambiguous interest in Akira, although this is not obvious in the manga. According to the ending, the anime almost died as a result of the battle with Homurabi, but Akira gave him some of the sin energy through a kiss. After that, Sirogane returned to the world of shadows, although, as before, an exile.

Sayyu : Junichi Suwabe

Kengo Asamura ( Asamura Kengo я 村 賢 я Jap ) is Akira's peer. They study in the same class and usually spend time together. Despite the fact that Akira keeps herself detached from everyone, they are bound by a strong friendship. Cango has a resilient temper. His hidden opportunities came to light when he tried to help his older sister, obsessed with kokuchi. He fights, using only his skills and gloves, obtained from Sirogane, taking the form of aluminum mittens with leggings, and increasing his strength. In the manga, he has the factor of darkness, which gives him considerable stamina, which is necessary for staying in the world of shadows. However, this is also the reason for his conversion to the berserk (if he swallows too much darkness) when he starts attacking friends or enemies without discrimination. Becoming a berserk, he shows an increase in physical strength and the ability to invoke kokuchi. He sealed the Kengo factor in advance (with a seal so strong that even Sirogane did not notice that Kengo is the carrier of the factor) when they first met. But the seal was broken when Homurabi found Kengo in chapter 12, so in Chapter 22 Ko had to seal the factor of darkness with Kengo again.

Sayyu : Hiroshi Kamiya

Aya Suzuno ( Jap. 鈴 野 綾 Suzuno Aya ) - Also Akira's classmate. Aya is a member of the disciplinary committee, has a strong sense of justice and a very immediate personality. Since she is highly trained in kendo , she essentially uses her skills in battles with kokuchi. Her bracelet - Kuresame, this Sirogane, gives her armor and katana for battle. In the manga, Kuresame improves during the battle with the Ruhr, giving her new armor and another sword. It is also found out during the battle that Aya is much stronger and more able to use two swords than one.

Sayyu : Masumi Asano

Haruka Kujo ( Jap. 九 条 悠 Kujo: Haruka ) - An eleven-year graduate of an American university who helps Akira is rich and lives in a huge mansion. He is the heir of the Cujo family, which is known for its demonic experiments using the traditional yin and yang techniques. To atone for the sins of his ancestors, Haruka volunteered to fight with Kokuti on Akira’s side, despite his physical unpreparedness for battle, and as a result he used a crossbow. It was Haruka who was Korovka (the main minion of Homurabi). Realizing that his plan may be prevented by Sirogane, he introduces him as a spy for the World of Shadows. However, his plan failed - with the help of Akira and Co. Sirogane, he was able to mislead the boy. After Akira managed to defeat Haruka, Homurabi tried to make the latter his blue one, but Akira and Sirogane managed to save him. Subsequently, Haruka leaves for England with her butler. Haruka is absent in the manga and coined specifically for the anime.

Sayu : Mitsuki Saiga

Shuichi Vagatsuma aka Master ( Jap. マ ス タ ー / 我 妻 秋 一 Masuta: / Vagatsuma Xu: iti ) is an acquaintance of Sirogane and the owner of the Aging Bar. As a rule, it is addressed by the “Master”. Even though he is blind, he can feel the presence of spirits and kokuti. He also has the ability to heal others, albeit in a somewhat painful way. According to the manga, he is the Summoned King of Light called Sisui. He is rather kindhearted and worried about his subordinates. When Homurabi seized power by killing Ryuko, Sisui had to flee into the human world. He was very weak, and he was also hiding about Homurabi, so he assumed a human form. His weapon is a golden staff. Able to open a portal to the world of shadows.

Sayu : Wataru Hatano

Mayu Asamura ( Jap. 浅 村 麻 結 Asamura Mayu ) - Older sister Kengo, obsessed with attractive guys. The master taught her exorcism , but she herself once was obsessed with Kokuchi and saved by Akira.

Sayu : Ami Kosimizu

Ruru ( Jap. ル ル Ruru ) - Externally - a girl, Akira's age, dressed in the style of " Gothic Lolita ", in fact, she is older than Ko. In the anime Ruru, Nanai's subordinate, but also familiar with Sirogane. He flirts with Akira and dislikes Ayu, constantly quarreling with the latter. Nanaya ( jap. 七 夜 Nanaya ) - Mysterious blue-haired guy with a bandage on one eye. At the beginning of the anime, he is presented as the main enemy controlling the kokuti to attack people, but later it turns out that he is only following orders from the King of the World of Shadows. Too high self-esteem leads him to death. Homurabi kills him in the manga and Haruka in the anime. The manga later turns out that Nanaya is not killed, but turned into a berserk. He is one of the five children of Homurabi.

Sayyu : Hiroyuki Yoshino

Ko ( Jap. 洸 Ko:) - One of the yards, a friend of Akira and Kengo, after an incident two years before the events of the original plot. Ryuko is loyal and one of his five children in the manga. Outwardly, he looks like for 25 years, behaves like a preoccupied pervert, but actually hides a strong feeling of guilt because he left Ryuko. This kindles a strong desire to protect Akira at any cost, even if it costs him his life. He has the ability to drink darkness from a foreign body with the help of his unusually long fangs, like a vampire . He used this ability twice to return Kango to normal form. Sayyu : Katsuyuki Konishi

Ryuko ( Jap. 劉 黒 Ryu: ko ) - The true King of the Rei, the opposites of the sin. Homurabi (on the manga - Sawaki) was killed long before the birth of Akira. Akira's form is essentially ray. Ryuko has long black hair and ruby-colored eyes, dressed in a long white frock coat, strapped at the wrists with straps, with two belts at the waist. His weapon is a silver braid with a lavender ribbon attached. Despite the fact that he had already awakened once, when Akira and Kengo first met Ko, his memories continue to be sealed in Akira. Since Ryuko has not yet fully regained his strength, he is not able to remain in the form of a ray for a long time, although Kengo won relatively easily. Before returning to his original form, he told Ko that he had never considered him a traitor, and if he was still worried about what had happened, he could look after Akira.

Homurabi ( jap. 焔 緋 Homurabi ) - Together with Sirogane he was the King of the world of shadows, but, wishing to become the only ruler, he expelled Sirogane. He heads a group of sin - his children. Cold personality with merciless and sadistic kind.

Sayu : Ryotaro Okaiu

Khiryu ( Jap. 氷 瀏 Khiryu :) - One of Khomurabi’s five children has the ability to control ice.

Sawaki ( Jap. 澤 木 Sawaki ) - Another of the five children of Homurabi. The implication is that he was involved in Ryuko’s death. He had a glimpse of Kango when he and Akira fled to school as a child.

Shiki ( Jap. 志 紀 Shiki ) - A little boy whose ability is to control the elasticity of a shadow material. One of the children of Homurabi.

The theme of the music consists of three parts: one opening intro and two endings. Screensaver “Metamorphose” is performed by the group Asriel and written by Kokomi . “Awake ~ my everything ~” endings ( Jap.
