Romania at the 1959 Summer Universiade

Romania at the first summer Universiade in Turin ( Italy ) took the 10th place in the team medal standings, winning 5 medals (2 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze). Two high jumpers, Cornel Porumb and Yolanda Balas, became champions of the Universiade.
