Parking or parking ( English parking ) - a long stop of the vehicle .
For parking, the right lane and roadside are used, as well as specially designated for this place: parking and garages .
In the traffic rules of Russia
Parking - the deliberate cessation of the vehicle for a period of more than 5 minutes for reasons not related to boarding and disembarking passengers, loading and unloading of the vehicle.
From the parking should be distinguished:
- Stop (up to 5 minutes, or associated with landing, disembarkation, loading and unloading). In other words, the following situations are not considered parking:
- The truck unloads for an hour.
- The driver moved to the nearest kiosk , stopping the engine.
- Forced stop (unintentional termination of traffic due to unforeseen circumstances: malfunction, obstacles, condition of the driver, passenger or cargo, including due to a traffic jam ( traffic jam )).
Parking is prohibited:
- in places where stopping is prohibited:
- on and near tram tracks ;
- on narrow (less than 3 lanes in one direction) bridges ;
- in tunnels , in poorly visible places;
- at the intersections and stops of route vehicles;
- in places marked with a special sign ;
- outside settlements on the carriageways of roads marked with the sign "Main road";
- closer than 50 m from level crossings .
