Biography

September 26, 1934 entered the fleet as a cadet. January 1, 1937 promoted to lieutenant.

World War II

Since September 1940, the 2nd assistant commander of the U-124 boat, commanded by captain-lieutenant Georg-Wilhelm Schulz. In December 1940 he became the 1st assistant on the same boat. By this time, the boat took 3rd place in the list of the most successful boats of the German fleet.

On September 8, 1941, Mor was appointed commander of his boat and made 6 campaigns on it (having spent a total of 268 days at sea).

Pestilence became famous for its success in the fight against warships, although at the same time he was one of the most productive submariners. On November 24, 1941, in the Central Atlantic, More was sunk by the English light cruiser Dyunedin, and in 1942, the French corvette Mimosa.

March 27, 1942 awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.

On the night of May 12, 1942, More attacked the ONS-92 convoy and in one battle sank 4 vessels with a total displacement of 21,784 gross tonnage.

January 15, 1943 awarded the Knight's Cross with oak leaves.

In total, during the hostilities, More sank 29 ships with a total displacement of 135,067 gross tons and damaged 3 ships with a displacement of 26,167 gross tons.

U-124, along with the entire crew, was sunk west of Oporto (Portugal) by the British Stoncrop corvette and the Black Swan (Black Swan) patrol ship (sloop).
