The single was released on May 20, 2000 . This song remains the most commercially successful to this day; the song took 3rd place on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks [2] and 53rd in the UK Singles Chart [3] . The song entered the tracklist of the rock collection Big Shiny Tunes of the Canadian music and television station MuchMusic .

Video clip
The video clip for the song was directed by an American clip maker , producer and director Liz Friedlander [4] . In the video, it was shot how the group performs the song “ Change ” at a party where there are a lot of people in animal masks and with an indifferent look. The video was shot for two days from May 30 to May 31, 2000 in Hollywood , California [5] .

Cover versions
- Canadian electro-industrial group Ayria recorded a cover song for the song, which was included in the bonus disc of the fifth studio album called Hearts for Bullets [6] .
- American rock band Breaking Benjamin (along with vocalist and rhythm guitarist Sean Morgan of African rock band Seether and solo guitarist Barry Stoke of Canadian rock band Three Days Grace ) performed a cover version of the song during a spring 2008 joint tour [7] .
- African rock band Seether performed an acoustic version of the song on SiriusXM in 2014 [8]
