Maclay's Kangaroo [1] ( lat. Dorcopsulus macleayi ) is a type of bush kangaroo. It was described by museum collections by the Russian researcher Nikolai Miklukho-Maclay . Named after the Australian zoologist and patron of science, William MacLay.

Area
Maclea's Kangaroo lives in the southeast of New Guinea . Endemic of Papua New Guinea .
Appearance
The coloration is dark, brownish-gray, somewhat lighter on the belly, the muzzle is bare, black, the ears are small [2] .
Weight - 3-5 kg.
Lifestyle and nutrition
Forest view inhabits tropical humid mountain forests. Population size is unknown, but probably stable.
Pregnancy and offspring
Reproduce once a year. Rutting period in January-February. Pregnancy lasts an average of 21 days. The female brings one - two cubs. The cub spends up to 18 months in the mother's bag.
Reproductive maturity in males and females occurs at 2 years [3] .
Lifespan
The average life expectancy of this species is not known, closely related species live for about 8 years.
