Biography

He graduated from the Sverdlovsk Music College. P.I. Tchaikovsky ( 1953 ) and the Ural State Conservatory ( 1958 , class P. Podgorny). He combined his studies at the conservatory with work in the orchestra of the Sverdlovsk Opera and Ballet Theater .

Ivan Nesterov was the first performer of the Sonata for clarinet of the Ural composer Vyacheslav Shchelokov (1965), his repertoire included compositions by Mozart , Debussy , Hindemith , Pulenok , Sergey Prokofiev , Sergey Vasilenko and others. Nesterov owns a number of arrangements for tom clarinet, Beethoven , Miliya Balakirev , Vladimir Bakaleinikov .

Immediately upon completion of education, Nesterov began teaching at the Ural Conservatory at the Department of Wind Instruments. In 1975 - 1997 headed the department. Among Nesterov’s students are a number of notable musicians and teachers, including Vladimir Chekasin , laureate of many international competitions and festivals, Garry Oganezov , Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, chief conductor of the Lipetsk Symphony Orchestra, Igor Parashchuk , professor of the Ural Conservatory, S. Terekhov and B. Turchinsky, teachers of the Conservatory ( Israel), soloist of the military orchestra in Omsk N. Zalesov and others.

Nesterov is the author of more than 20 scientific and methodological works, including On Performing Breath, Work on the Musical Image, Interpretations of Concerts by K. M. Weber for Clarinet, etc. He acted as the organizer of numerous regional competitions of wind performers instruments, was a member of the jury of many Russian competitions, held master classes in Moscow, Nizhny Tagil, Berezniki, Novosibirsk, Odessa, Chelyabinsk, Perm and other cities of the USSR.
