Zakharov, Vadim Arisovich

Vadim Arisovich Zakharov (born 1959 , Dushanbe ) is a Soviet and Russian artist , editor , active participant in Moscow unofficial art , one of the key characters in Moscow conceptualism , winner of the Kandinsky Prize (2009).

Biography

In 1982 he graduated from the Moscow Pedagogical Institute. V.I. Lenin . Participant in exhibitions of unofficial art since 1978, collaborated with many artists, among them: Victor Skersis (SZ group, since 1980), Sergey Anufriev ("The Dead End of Our Time", "Corners", 1997), Andrei Monastyrsky and Yuri Leiderman (Kapiton group, 2008-2010). In 1982-1983 he participated in the exhibitions of the APTART gallery in Moscow. In the early 1980s, he participated in compiling the folders of the Moscow Archive of New Art (MANI) and the collection “By Workshops No. 1” (together with G. Kizevalter ). Then he began to collect his own collection of works by contemporary Moscow artists and a documentary archive related to their work. Since 1989, lives and works in Russia and Germany. Since 1992 - publisher of the short-run almanac "Pastor" , dedicated to the Moscow conceptual school. He founded his own publishing house Pastor Zond Edition. In 2006, together with Catherine Degot, compiled the so-called. The "golden book" of Moscow conceptualism [3] , in 2008 founded a website . Since 2011, he has been working together with artist Niklas Nitschke.

On September 10, 2003, a monument to the philosopher Theodor Adorno by Vadim Zakharov was unveiled in Frankfurt am Main . Zakharov won the international closed competition held by the city authorities for the creation of the monument, in which Daniel Buren and Joseph Kossuth took part [4] .
