Iriri

Iriri ( port. Iriri ) is a river in the central part of South America . It flows through the territory of Brazil , the left tributary of the Xingu River.

The origins are on the Mato Grosso Plateau. The height of the source is 460 m above sea level. The river flows mainly in a northerly direction, its length is about 1100 [1] km.

The high water period lasts from October to April - May. Navigation on the river is possible only on small vessels, since it has many small rapids.

Iriri flows through the ecoregions of the dry tropical forests of Mato Grosso and the rainforests of Tapajos-Shingu , which are part of the Amazon rainforests [2] .
