House 8

Casin’s house until recently was listed as   architectural monument (newly identified object) [2] , however, the quarter in which the building is located was included in the sphere of interests of Settl Group corporation, which is planning here the construction of a hotel, sports complex, several cafes, and a restaurant. The developer ordered a historical and cultural examination, during which it was proved that five houses bearing the status of a monument do not represent historical value, or are emergency. Housework 8 proved that it was an antique-styled post-war building erected during the restoration of the Petrodvorets on the site of a house lost in the war. The Cultural Heritage Council of St. Petersburg in November 2008 supported the examination results and voted to disarm the buildings.
