Billander , bilander or billander ( Dutch. Billander (from bij - near and land - land, land) ) - a type of two-masted merchant sailing vessel. By the end of the XVIII century, this type of vessel was used only in the Netherlands [1] .
The shape of the grotto used on the billander was different from the grotto used on other two-match ships, and was close to the shape of the 17th century mizzen . On the billander, the grotto was carried on a ryu suspended from the main mast at an angle of 45 ° (the lower hoist of the sail almost touched the stern). A sheet was attached to the butt of the transom . The tack was fastened with hoists on the deck butt in the diametrical plane of the vessel approximately in the middle of its length [1] .
