Pavel Viktorovich Chernov (born 1950) was a Russian economic and statesman, in 2003-2010 - Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Karelia .

Biography
In 1967-1972 - a student at Mordovia State University . After graduation, he was sent to work in the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic as a foreman in the Nadvoitsk SMU of the Segezhstroy trust, later he worked as a construction superintendent, section head, and chief engineer. Since 1980 - chief engineer of the Segezhstroy trust.
In 1985 he was appointed deputy chief of Glavsevzapstroy of the USSR Ministry of Industry and Trade ( Petrozavodsk ).
Since 1988 - chief engineer of the Petrozavodsk Trust of large-panel housing construction, head of the design and construction association of large-panel housing construction. In June 1990, he was appointed head of the Design and Construction Association of Large-Panel House Building (PSO KPD) (since January 1993 - AOZT “Large-panel House Building” [1] ).
A significant part of his career, Pavel Viktorovich devoted to construction. With his participation and direct management, the Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill , the Nadvoitsky Aluminum Plant were reconstructed, residential neighborhoods were built in the cities of Petrozavodsk, Segezha and Kostomuksha.
In 1998, he was appointed to the post of chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for construction, construction industry and architecture. In 2000-2001 - Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Karelia - Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for construction, construction industry and architecture. In 2001-2002 - and. about. Since June 2002 - Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Karelia. Since January 1, 2003 he has been appointed Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Karelia [2] .
On July 27, 2010, in connection with the early resignation of the powers of the Head of the Republic Sergey Katanandov , in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Karelia, was dismissed from the post of Prime Minister.
