Africa Basketball Championship 2009

The 25th African Basketball Championship - held at Tripoli and Benghazi , Libya basketball courts, from 6 to 15 August 2009 . In the final stage, 16 national teams participated, divided into 4 groups. Teams that finished in 4 places in the playoff round played out 13-16 places. 3 strongest teams from each group formed 2 groups in the qualifying round. The teams that took the 5th and 6th places played 9-12 places in the play-off round. Teams who took 1-4 places in the playoff round played 1-8 places.

3 strongest championship teams got to the 2010 World Basketball Championship in Turkey .
