Dorothy Louise Tallafero “Del” Martin ( Eng. Dorothy Louise Taliaferro "Del" Martin , May 5, 1921 - August 27, 2008 ) and Philis Ann Laion ( born Phyllis Ann Lyon , born November 10, 1924 ) - an American lesbian couple, activists of the LGBT rights movement and the feminist movement, the founder of the first in the US social and human rights organization of lesbian Daughters Bilitis .

Del and Phyllis lived together for 55 years ( 1953 - 2008 ). On June 16, 2008, their marriage was officially registered in San Francisco - this was the first precedent after the decision to legalize same-sex marriage in California in 2008.
