Herbert Francis Sharpe ( born Herbert Francis Sharpe ; March 1, 1861 , Halifax - October 14, 1925 ) is a British composer, pianist and music teacher. Cedric Sharpe 's father.

He graduated from the National School of Music Education ( English National Training School for Music - an educational institution that existed in 1875 - 1882 , a direct predecessor of the Royal College of Music ) in piano, John Francis Barnett . From 1884 until the end of his life he taught at the Royal College of Music, where, according to the recollections of the students, he first introduced the works of the latest French composer school. Sharpe studied, in particular, Ralph Vaughan-Williams .
He wrote a comic opera (remained in the manuscript), songs, a suite for flute and piano, piano plays, including transcriptions of Scottish folk motifs and the piano arrangement of Edward Grieg ’s Norwegian Songs and Dances. In 1916 he published The Waltz Serenade and In The Evening (for cello) [1] .
In January 1922, HMV Records made several records performed by Cedric and Herbert Sharpov [2] .
