Birch cone [1] ( lat. Conus betulinus ) is a species of carnivorous gastropod mollusks from the family of cones ( Conidae ). They feed on polychaete worms . [2] [3] The specific name comes from lat. betula - birch .

Range
The usual view for the shallow waters of the Pacific and Indian oceans , in particular, is common in the Red Sea .
Sink
Conus betulinus has a thick-walled, strong shell , up to 150 mm high, with a slightly elevated pointed curl. The last revolution is strongly swollen in the upper part, his shoulder is slightly wavy. The mouth of the conch is relatively wide. A spiral sculpture is presented only in the lower part of the last revolution in the form of flat and wide ribs not protruding above the surface of the shell and separated by narrow gaps. The rest of the shell surface is smooth. Rising lines are rough. The surface of the shell is white or yellow. Light or dark brown rectangular spots are arranged in a spiral along the general background. The largest spots are located on the shoulder of the last revolution.
