Ignatius II (Bishop of Rostov)

Bishop Ignatius II (d. 1364 ) - Bishop of the Russian Church , Bishop of Rostov .

Very little information has been preserved about Bishop Ignatius. He was ordained to the Rostov chair by Metropolitan Alexy in 1356 [1] .

Under him, in 1363, with the blessing of St. Sergius of Radonezh , the Borisoglebsky Monastery was founded at Ustye , 17 miles from Rostov [1] .

Ignatius is mentioned among the witnesses in the compilation of spiritual letters of Grand Duke Ivan Ivanovich [1] .
