Biography
Early years
Vladimir Fedotov always believed that his future was determined by his father's football genes. So, for example, from 4 years old, Grigory Fedotov took his son to CSKA training. In addition, Vladimir went with his father to the training camp. In the end, his father recorded Vladimir in FSM. The first coach of Vladimir Fedotov was Valery Maslov .
Player Career
At 18, invited by Konstantin Beskov to CSKA . Beskov himself was removed at the end of the season, and Fedotov showed himself brightly in the first season - 10 goals in 12 matches. A bright and productive game allowed Vladimir to gain a foothold in the composition and become the team leader.
Together with the team he became the bronze medalist of the championships of 1964 and 1965.
Fedotov ensured the CSKA team victory in the final match of the USSR-70 championship against Dynamo Moscow . By the 71st minute Dynamo was leading 3-1, but it was Fedotov who scored a goal from the 71st to the 84th minute, then earned a penalty (scored by Polikarpov ), and then scored a winning goal - after hitting the ball hit a bump before the goalkeeper of Dynamo Pilgui and flew into the goal. After the match, already at the Tashkent airport , an unknown Uzbek fan brought Fedotov a handful of land with the same “victorious” bump as a present [2] .
Coaching career
In 1975, when the CSKA team was assigned to lead Anatoly Tarasov , he became the team's playing coach. Later, he completely switched to coaching at CSKA.
In 1981 he headed SKA (Rostov-on-Don) , with whom he won the USSR Cup on May 9, 1981.
In early 1993, he signed a 10-month contract with a club from Bahrain, Al-Muharraq . In October 1993, for 6 rounds before the end of the championship of Russia in quality and. about. the head coach was headed by Spartak (Vladikavkaz) . However, after the season ended, he left the team, as it became known about the appointment of his father-in-law, Konstantin Beskov, as the head coach of Dynamo Moscow, while it was assumed that Beskov would be a consultant coach with Fedotov in Vladikavkaz.
In 1994, he worked as a coach at Dynamo (Moscow) . In 1995-1996 - coach of CSKA Moscow .
In the 1998 season, he was the head coach of the Saratov Sokol .
Since 2002 - in the coaching staff of the Moscow “ Spartak ”. Twice became the acting head coach of the club (2003, 2006). Since June 1, 2006 he held the position of head coach of Spartak, but on June 19, 2007 he was dismissed after a series of unsuccessful matches of the team. According to Yegor Titov , “Fedotov constantly said that he was being“ jailed ”. But he did not name his surname. Because of all this, he was very worried, nervous that he could be removed at any time. So in the end it happened ” [3] .
From June 26, 2007 [4] to January 2009, he was the sports director of FC Moscow [5] .
Death
March 16, 2009 Fedotov was hospitalized in the Botkin Hospital of Moscow in a coma [6] . March 29, at the 67th year of his life, died [7] . The cause of death was not disclosed. He was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery [8] .
According to the wife, the cause of death was severe depression after being dismissed from Spartak and Moscow [9] .
