Badb

Badb ( Dr. Irl. Badb ) or Bayve ( Irl. Badhbh ), which means "crow" - the goddess of war in Irish mythology ; some researchers see in Badb one of the three faces of Morrigan .

Battle Crow

The goddess got her name because, according to legend, she appears on the battlefield in the form of a crow. Although it is very difficult to draw a clear line here, because, for example, in the battle of Magician Tuired , Morrigan herself took on this form. Another saga is known where exactly Badb, and not Morrigan, threatens Kuhulin . The image of Badb is mixed with the image of Nemine . This, indeed, leads to the idea that it seems that the Irish themselves did not really distinguish between the goddesses, that all three of them are one goddess.

"Strong Cold and Wind, High Reed"

There are interesting references to a certain satellite with whom this goddess was seen. Very little is known about him, since even in the sagas describing him, he is laconic. Badb herself gave her companion the name "Strong Cold and Wind, High Reed." This man is described in different ways, but perhaps his constant sign is that he carries weapons.
