Geography
36 km southeast of Rechitsa , 48 km from Gomel and 7 km from the railway station Yakimovka .
Around the village is a forest.
History
3 km north of the village, archaeologists discovered the ancient settlement of the 1st – 3rd centuries BC. e. According to written sources, it has been known since the 15th century and was part of the Rechitsa district of the Minsk Voivodeship of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania . In 1499, the owner of the village S. I. Mozhaisky joined the Moscow principality . Borkhov is mentioned in the materials of 1526-1527 in connection with the conflicts between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Principality of Moscow. After the 2nd division of the Commonwealth ( 1793 ) as part of the Russian Empire . Since 1880, a bread store was operating. In 1887 - a chapel, 3 windmills. In 1897, a literacy school, a shop, and a forge worked. Nearby was the eponymous farm. In 1909, as part of the Teleshkovsky volost of the Gomel region, Mogilev province .
In 1920, the village of Beavers was founded by immigrants from Borkhov.
In 1926, in the Uvarovichi district of the Gomel district. Since December 8, 1926, the center of the Borkhov Village Council of Uvarovichsky , since October 6, 1960, the Rechitsa District of the Gomel District since February 20, 1938 of the Gomel Region.
In 1926 there was a store, an elementary school. In 1931 the collective farm “Winner of the Five-Year Plan” was organized, a screw-cutting and riveting workshop, 2 forges worked.
During the Great Patriotic War from August 1941 to July 1943, an underground group operated mainly consisting of medical workers. Led by the underground M. Y. Dolgaya. In July 1943, the German occupiers completely burned the village and killed 99 inhabitants. On the fronts killed 118 villagers.
In 1959, the village was part of the Borschevka collective farm with a center in the village of Borschevka . In the village there was a forestry area, an 8-year-old school , a club, a library, a feldsher-midwife station, a shop, and a communications department . The structure of the Borkhov Village Council until 1981 included, now defunct, the village of Koptsy.
