Susan Polgar with his second husband

Juzha Polgar was born into a Jewish family in Budapest . All three children in the family - the sisters Juzh, Sofia and Judit - received home education. The children were taught by their mother Klara Polgar (née Altberger, born 1946 ), a teacher from the village of Vilok (now Transcarpathian region of Ukraine ), who graduated from the university in Uzhgorod . [5] [6] From early childhood, children were taught chess by their father - psychologist and teacher Laszlo Polgar . The sisters became strong chess players, Juja Polgar is an international grandmaster, lives with her husband in New York , USA , Judit Polgar is a grandmaster in Hungary , and Sofia Polgar (Kosashvili) is an international master in Israel .

She is called Zhuzha Polgar: Zhuzha is a diminutive of Zsuzsanna.

In January 1991, Polgar became a grandmaster among men. (Earlier, this title was achieved by Nona Gaprindashvili and Maya Chiburdanidze ).

In 1996, Polgar became the world champion.

In 1999, FIDE deprived Juju Polgar of the title of champion. Later, she challenged this decision in court and won the trial, but the title of world champion was already won.

Susan Polgar speaks, in addition to Hungarian, six more languages ​​- Esperanto , which she speaks from childhood, German, Russian, Spanish, English and Hebrew.
