The MVA-62 is a tailless tail with lifting engines in the center section and a main engine in the rear of the center section, on the pylon. The buoyancy of the amphibian was ensured by the center-section located at the ends, the floats retractable in flight. Control was provided by jet (at low speeds) and aerodynamic control surfaces (at high speeds). The MVA-62 had a catamaran scheme, which guaranteed stability afloat at a swell of 4-5 points. Aerodynamic layout, gas-jet control system, lifting engines, a take-off and landing device consisting of inflatable floats and other structural elements looked quite revolutionary for their time, which made them doubt the possibility of practical implementation of the project. However, the practical implementation of the project promised unusually wide opportunities: take-off and landing on water or land practically in any place; high seaworthiness; the conduct of action from the position of duty afloat; accommodation on board the hydroacoustic station, etc. The MBA-62 project served as the basis for the creation of the VVA-14 amphibian.
