Company History
In 1993, ProgramBank began developing a new banking system in a client-server architecture based on Oracle DBMS . Initially, the system had the working name "Unix-complex", it soon received the name "Athena" (from the words automation and finance). The system entered the market in 1997, was successfully implemented in seven banks.
In the spring of 1998, the development and support of the system was transferred to the joint venture of the ProgramBank and Diasoft companies, which was called Diasoft + Programbank. Then the company began to be called "New Athena" [1] .
Achievements, market role
The most significant achievements of the company are the introduction of Sberbank of Russia into the settlement center [2] , as well as the automation of the head office and all branches of VTB Bank [3] [4] .
The company "New Athena" has more than 40 customers - these are banks and other credit organizations of Russia and the CIS countries, non-banking organizations of Russia, as well as representative offices and subsidiary banks of foreign banks and international financial companies [5] .
8 clients of the company are in the Top-50 [6] , and 13 clients are in the Top-100 in terms of assets among Russian banks [7] . Among the clients of New Athena there are 7 representative offices of well-known foreign banks in Russia [8] .
Products
The main product of the company is the New Athena Banking Management Information System ( ABS ). The system is implemented in the client-server architecture based on Oracle DBMS (DBMS) [9] . The system allows you to organize IT support for the activities of multi-branch networks of large Russian banks [10] .
