Hugo II was the son of the founder of the Lusignan family of Hugo I Hunter . According to the chronicle of the monastery of Saint-Mexin ( French: Saint-Maixent ), Hugo II built the family castle of Lusignan , which, however, was first mentioned in written documents only in 1009.

The name of the wife of Hugo II is unknown. Children:
- Hugo III White (c. 948 - c. 1012), seigneur de Lusignan from 950/967
- Jocelyn de la Roche (c. 950 - c. 1016).
