Biography

A musical career in the late 1960s, he began as accompanist ( bass ) of various French artists, the first of whom was his sister. The first group, where FR David acts as the leading vocalist, becomes the group “Le Boots”, shortly before it lost its vocalist.

In the early 1970s, he played in the French rock band Les Variations, replacing singer Joe Loeb. There is also a project called “King Of Hearts”, in which FR David and one of the former members of Les Variations, Marc Tobaly, and Cockpit, with which the album and three singles were released, participated. The duet recorded the disc Close, But No Guitar , released in 1978 in the United States on Capitol Records . Then FR David began his solo career.

In 1982, the musician released one of his most famous songs - “ Words ”, sold with a total circulation of 8 million copies and reached the second line in the UK Singles Chart ( April 30 - May 7, 1983 ) [1] . The song entered the artist's debut album of the same name. Also, the album features such hits as “Take Me Back”, “Pick Up the Phone”, “Music” and others.

The peak of the popularity of FR David came in the 1980s, when he released two more successful albums Long Distance Flight ( 1984 ) and Reflections ( 1987 ). The latest successful single of the singer today is “I'll Try to Love Again” ( 1992 ).

Late years

In 1999, the album comes out 99 version , consisting mainly of remakes of the main hits and several covers . In 2007, the album The Wheel ; in 2009 - Numbers . In 2010-11, F.R. David conducted a concert tour of France.

In 2013, the new album Midnight Drive was released ; On the musician’s official Youtube page, lyrics were posted to the songs “So Good”, “The Things I Missed”, “Control”. In the same year, F. R. David performed at the Disco of the 80s in Russia.
