Joseph Zaplata ( Polish: Józef Zapłata CFCI [1] ; March 5, 1904 , Yerce village, near Koszyan , Poland - February 19, 1945 , Dachau concentration camp ) - a blessed Roman Catholic church , a priest , a monk from male monastic congregation "Brothers of the Heart of Jesus." He is among 108 blessed Polish martyrs who were beatified by Pope John Paul II during his visit to Warsaw on June 13, 1999 .

Biography
On April 14, 1927, after completing military service, he entered the men's monastic congregation, “Brothers of the Heart of Jesus.” On September 8, 1928 he took temporary monastic vows , and on March 10, 1938 he took eternal vows. He served in the office of the Primate of Poland, in the curia of the archbishop in Poznan , and also performed pastoral duties in the church of St. Elizabeth in Lviv . For some time he worked as the head of the novitiate of the Brothers of the Heart of Jesus congregation.
After the outbreak of World War II , the Gestapo was arrested on October 3, 1939 and imprisoned in the Poznan death camp Fort VII , then transferred to the Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria . December 8, 1940 was transferred to the Dachau concentration camp. His concentration number is 22099. He lived in a concentration camp for five years. At the beginning of 1945, while caring for patients with typhoid , he became infected and died already after being released from the concentration camp from the disease.
Praise
On June 13, 1999, he was beatified by Pope John Paul II along with other Polish martyrs of World War II .
