Pile

Marlspieker.jpg

A pile is a rigging tool in the form of a straight or slightly bent wooden or iron rod with a cap on one end and pointed at the other end.

The pile is used for punching (disconnecting) the strands of the cable .

Most piles are 15 to 30 cm long.

It is also used in fights of sailors [1] , as a mount for truckers .

The name of this rigging tool gave the name to marlin fish ( English marlinspike ) - the nose of the fish is like this tool.

A pile is also a thick nail or spike with a large head for the Russian folk pile game .
