North Azadegan is a large Iranian oil field , isolated from the Azadegan field in 2006 . Initial oil reserves amount to 950 million tons.
The operator of the field is the Chinese oil company CNPC . According to the agreement, the Chinese oil company CNPC pledged to develop the field in two phases. The start of the second phase will depend on the presentation of a comprehensive CNPC plan and its approval by the NIOC . The design level of oil production should be 5.5-6.0 million tons per year.
